Learned Behaviour
Sometimes the lessons that stick the most are the ones never intended to be taught. There have been many studies around racism and division and the findings is that racism is a learned behaviour.
They teach the white boy he is losing.
They teach the black boy he is less.
They teach the migrant he is guilty.
They teach the hungry to accept.
They sell the war.
They sell the cure.
They sell the poison and the prayer.
They stand above the burning streets
and ask how all that fire got there.
Racism is not born in bone.
It is planted, watered, fed.
It grows where power needs a mask
and truth is dragged away for dead.
They are always there.
